In the heart of Stafford, St. Chad’s church is one of the oldest buildings in the town, and the Collegiate Church of St. Mary’s also in the town centre, holds the Izaak Walton memorial.
A short journey out of Stafford will find you at Izaak Walton’s Cottage, the ‘chocolate box’ location dedicated to angling, the complete working historic estate of Shugborough or Sandon Hall surrounded by 400 acres of glorious parkland.
The museum at RAF Cosford houses one of the most spectacular collections of military and civic aircraft. Located within the national forest of Staffordshire, near Lichfield the National Memorial Arboretum is the home of the new Armed Forces Memorial comprising 150 acres of trees and memorials devoted to the concept of remembrance.
