Venue: RAF Museum, Cosford

Returning in 2020! Join us this Easter and take part in our exciting Animal Easter Trail which will take you around the Museum hangars and help find our animal friends. By taking part in the trail you'll find out why the animals are around the Museum. Once completed you will receive a delicious chocolatey prize.

Trails can be purchased between 10.00am to 3.00pm which allows everyone the chance to complete the trail and collect their prize. The trail is suitable for children of any age, but younger ones might need help from their grownups. Once you have found all the animals please hand your completed trail sheet to staff in the Visitor Centre who will give you your much-deserved chocolate prize.

The Stafford LitFest main event will be taking place in The Met from 10am to 4pm. There will be  an open mic with spoken word and book sales taking place in The Churchill and Mountbatten suites, throughout the day.

The festival will showcase a variety of local authors from different genres, along with interesting and helpful talks on creative writing and local interest.

To mark 75 years since the end of the Second World War, we will be celebrating as the whole of Europe once did: with a Street Party. A weekend of food and fun will be held in the grounds of the Museum. Joining the food and drink at the Street Party will be costumed re-enactors, Vintage Selfie Station, Vintage Fairground stalls and family activities.

IRONMAN 70.3 Staffordshire

The Ironman 70.3 Staffordshire triathlon starts with a 1.2-mile swim in Chasewater reservoir and a 56-mile bike course through the stunning countryside outside Lichfield, Burton upon Trent, and across Cannock Chase area of outstanding natural beauty.

The 13.1-mile run takes in Stafford town centre and Stafford Castle before finishing in Market Square.

The winner is expected to cross the line at around 10.45am, with competitors crossing the finish line all day until 5pm.

Open Cockpits Weekend

This year our Armed Forces Weekend will fall part of Our Open Cockpits Weekend which will be held from 10.00am until 4.00pm giving guests plenty of time to gain access / close view the aircraft selected and enjoy all the Museum hangars and facilities.

During the day, guests will be able to speak many of our experienced and highly knowledgeable staff and volunteers who will be able to share aircraft information and answer any questions you may have. 

Tickets cost £13.50 per person - advance only. 
Serving personnel and veterans special price of £6.75 - please have your service / staff number ready on checkout 

Please note parking charges are included in the ticket price.

The Museum will be open as normal however you will require a ticket to gain access to the aircraft. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult for aircraft access.

The RAF Museum's Conservation Centre will be opening its doors to visitors in November 2020 for access to aircraft in our conservation hangar.

For one week only, visitors will be able to view progress behind-the-scenes being made on a range of aircraft. Not only will visitors get the chance to view rare aircraft but the chance to speak to Museum Technicians, Apprentices and Volunteers who will be available throughout the week to speak with visitors about their work and answer any questions you may have on their current projects.

The Open Week will run 10.15am - 1.00pm

Venue: RAF Cosford

Join the Royal Air Force Museum this festive season and take part in the Letters Home trail, inspired by letters sent during the war from personnel serving overseas, to their loved ones back at home.  Families will be given a letter created using real extracts, but to read the letter in full, youngsters will need to search the hangars to find all the missing words.  With nine words to find across huge hangars packed full of aircraft, it’s no easy task and will require lots of eagle eyed youngsters.
