Eat, Drink, Shop, Learn & Enjoy at Staffordshire’s original ‘gastronomic gathering’.

Food lovers are in for a treat this October, with the return of Stone’s annual celebration of all things food & drink. For one ‘big weekend’ the town’s Westbridge Park transforms into a foodie haven packed with artisan produce, street food stalls, live cookery demonstrations with top local chefs, talks, tastings and live music. Local breweries will be out in force to create Staffordshire’s biggest ‘beer garden’ centred around lead sponsor Joule’s Brewery’s pop-up pub and there will be plenty to keep younger visitors entertained with circus skills workshops, fairground rides and the chance to make their own milkshakes.

Chefs taking centre stage in the Lexus Stoke Demonstration Kitchen this year include includes Stuart Collins of Docket No.33 in Whitchurch - who made it through to the final of this year’s Great British Menu - Stone born and bred Rosanna Moseley who became a household name on the 2016 edition of Masterchef: The Professionals and now heads up the kitchen at The Oyster Club in Birmingham and Thom Bateman of The Flintlock, Cheddleton - also executive chef and content creator for Jack Whitehall’s food page.

Every weekend from Saturday 2nd October, Daily from Monday 18th - 31st October

Get spooky season off to a great start with a visit to the Lower Drayton Farm pick your own pumpkin patch. They have planted over 80,000 pumpkin seeds of various varieties, over 12 acres, making it one of the largest pumpkin fields in the area. You can rest assured you’ll find your ‘perfect pumpkin’ match! Once you’ve picked your pumpkin you can head to the pumpkin carving tent and get creative (no mess to clean up at home!). There will be hot food provided by Pear Tree Farm catering offering hot dogs and homemade pumpkin soup. Also soft drinks, tea, coffee and hot chocolate.

Celebrating the growing popularity of emerging and modern classics from the 1970s, 80s and now covering the retro-cool bikes of the 90s, the Classic Motorcycle Mechanics Show has grown in popularity year after year and now regularly welcomes more than 30,000 enthusiasts through its doors. Taking place at the superb Staffordshire County Showground the event features over 900 traders, dealers and autojumble stands offering a wealth of parts and spares for every project. There’s a host of excellent club stands, exciting live action, the Bonhams autumn sale, classic competition machines and special guest stars from iconic eras of motorcycling.

Selling a great range of fresh local produce, Stafford Farmers Market welcomes local shoppers and visitors into the heart of Stafford every second Saturday of the month (except January).

Located within Stafford’s Market Square, famous for its historical buildings including the 18th century Shire Hall Gallery, the Farmers Market is a great place to buy fresh and local produce, as well as supporting local businesses. 

Goods for sale are cakes, oatcakes, wines, jams and preserves, fresh meat, sausages, bacon, eggs and scotch eggs, pastries, street food, and many more items too numerous to mention. Traders set up their stalls from as early as 7.30am with the majority being open for trading from 9am they close at around 3pm or when they have nothing left to sell!

Kelvin Smith, a noted parapsychologist, is the guest of honour tonight at a special dinner of paranormal investigators where no doubt the main topic of discussion will be the journal. Should Kelvin becareful of what he says and who he speaks to? What are the causes of these mysterious deaths? Come along and find out!

Remembrance Service 2021

The RAF Museum, Cosford will be holding a Service of Remembrance on Sunday 14 November, paying respect to those service men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice during their tours of duty. The Service will be led by RAF Cosford Station Chaplain, Wg Cdr Wynn, and will include readings and the sounding of ‘The Last Post’, followed by two minutes of silence. Wreaths will be laid by representatives from RAF Cosford, RAF Museum staff and volunteers in honour of those who have fallen in the line of duty. Visitors are invited to join the service which will take place in the Museum’s Hangar 1. Visit their website to watch 2021’s Virtual Remembrance Service and to browse a virtual collection of personal Acts of Remembrance created in honour of The Fallen.

Neo-blues & soul singer Rory Graham, aka Rag‘n’Bone Man, is an English singer-songwriter known for his distinctive baritone voice. Having won the 2017 BRIT’s ‘British Breakthrough Act’ and receiving the BRIT’s Critics’ Choice Award in the same year, Rag‘n’Bone Man cemented his success with the record-breaking release of his 4 x platinum No. 1 album Human and a further BRIT Award for ‘British Single’ for the title track (Human) in 2018. The album has been recognised internationally, earning Rory sell-out tours and festival appearances around the globe. Subsequent side projects include the monster hit collaboration track ‘Giant’ with Calvin Harris. He is currently working on his sophomore album, set for release in 2021.

Keane last appeared as part of Forest Live in 2010, and the upcoming dates will see them return to perform material from their extensive repertoire. After a six-year hiatus, the band made a long overdue return in 2019 with their latest studio album ‘Cause and Effect’ and a triumphant sold-out UK tour. This release followed on from a succession of previous No 1 albums that have accumulated over 13 million sales worldwide, including the seminal debut smash, ‘Hopes and Fears’. Generating hit singles ‘Somewhere Only We Know’, ‘Everybody’s Changing’, ‘This Is The Last Time’ and ‘Bedshaped’, this recording became one of the biggest selling albums in UK chart history and secured Keane’s place as one of Britain’s best-loved bands.
