First set up in 1986 the Tourism Bureau is a private / public sector membership organisation. Members include tourist attractions, accommodation providers, shops, restaurants, pubs all contributing towards boosting the local economy and creating an interesting and exciting destination.
What are our aims?
increase the numbers of both day and short-break visitors
maintain and improve standards of services and facilities
raise the profile and pulic awareness of the area
encourage the development and promotion of local attractions,
accommodation and tourism facilities
assist in obtaining professional advice and information
provide relevant training
networking
What have we achieved?
free distribution of tourism literature throughout the area
high quality promotional material including the Visitor Guide,
Eating Out Guide, Bedroom Browser etc.
accommodation map for all Tourist Information Points in the area
appointed Stafford Town Crier
initiated the Taste of Staffordshire Good Food Awards
