Trentham Monkey Forest

Take a walk on the wild side - a truly unique adventure!

The only place in the UK where you can actually walk amongst 140 Barbary macaques roaming free in 60 acres of beautiful English forest. You will be mesmerised as you watch the monkeys playing in the trees and on the ground and don't be surprised if they stroll on the path straight in front of you - there are no bars or barriers here and visitors become totally engrossed in the monkeys lives.

We usually have between 6-10 tiny new arrivals ear year and we're sure you'll have great fun finding them being carried and groomed by their mothers or other members of the group.  The fantastic setting allows the macaques to display natural behaviours as they would in the wild. Our guides are always at hand to explain their antics as they occur before your very eyes and ensure you catch our hourly feeding talks taking place in the forest.
